Wishing all readers a successful 2015

writingWe have many things that compete for our valuable time, making it very difficult to strike that delicate balance between a rewarding professional life and a fulfilling personal life. I would argue that the not many people of the past knew & present know how to balance both the mission and their lives at home. This doesn’t happen by accident.

Not sure if Benjamin Franklin said this

“If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!”

It all begins with A PLAN.  Priorities in your lives, competing interests in your life, demands in your work & business, pressures on your study or any decisions you need to make, you need to have a plan to move on. You move more directly from where you are in life to where you want to be. If you have no plan, you are on the merry-go-round of life. You’ll pay your money, sit on a carousel, go around, get off the ride and find yourself somewhat nauseated while realizing you have gone absolutely nowhere!

As a husband and a father and a responsible, accountable person at work, I know it is very difficult to juggle between my priorities. The one priority I have in my plan is to put my family first, love them first. But I struggle in this area!

I cannot possibly show my children I love them without participating in their lives and being present during their activities. I cannot possibly show my spouse I  love her without spending quality time together.

I need to plan other priorities at work, give equal importance without diluting my focus on my family & and my own passion.

We cannot be all things to all people. We shouldn’t merely imitating others. Exceptions are not examples and examples are not exceptions!!. Make a confirmed plan, prioritise your priorities.

Plan for your family, plan ahead to attend your kids important events. I encourage all to sit down and put some deep thought into developing your own plans. Remember this statement when considering your own plan “We cannot become what we want to be, by remaining who we are.”

Wishing all an eventful and successful 2015.
