Senior Buyer - Food

 

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Source and Product Development

Develop buying approach to maximise category performance both in terms of topline and bottom line metrics

Develop and implement a buying brief and sourcing policy in collaboration with the category head

Identify, evaluate, and pursue new product development for Food products 

Manage relationship with FMCG companies and private brand vendors

Liase with internal stakeholders to co-ordinate promotional activities through best use of signage, in store locations, display stands windows, POS Merchandise Planning

Prepare Category promotional calendar in conjunction with the marketing team 

Manage store adjacency and layout in conjunction with the Operations Team Maximise Sales & Profit

Analyse Category performance and take actions in order to manage shortfalls, maximise sales and curtail risks working closely with Merchandise team

Achieve targets with regard to Open buy, Mark-downs, margins, gross profit and stock levels

Execute seasonal promotional activities and off season mark-down and clearance activities in conjunction with merchandise team 

Implement opportunities from store visits and competitor performance analysis 

New store launch, refurbishment. Work closely with Ops team, Category Management Team for New store launches and refurbishment Vendor Management

Responsible for vendor development including Build and maintaining solid relationship with vendors 

Analyse vendor wise product allocation, sales, profit margins, appropriate; prepares and presents reports and summaries, and recommends appropriate action Inventory control 

Responsible for setting competitive price points and adjusting prices to increase sales and to clear out stagnant items from inventory. 

Balancing projected forecasts and actual sales, retail category managers create trend forecasts and implement sales plans.
